About Mahamane Faroukou Hamissou

I hold twelve (12) years of professional experience in donor-funded development projects, including ten (10) years leading the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Research program cycles and Two (2) years leading Project Management. I'm well-versed in overseeing evaluations, surveys, studies, and research, having served as Team Leader, Data Manager, Supervisor, and Investigator on several occasions in the health development sector. I am familiar with both quantitative and qualitative data management. At Marie Stopes, as Head of Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (RMEAL) for a Family Planning Activity, I verified data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and comprehensiveness of information, established an efficient system for physical and electronic data archiving and reporting and conducted a survey for the validation of Marie Stopes Niger's routine data according to the Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) methodology. I’m also experienced in capacity building, training program staff on the use of paper and digital tools (ODK; Kobo collection; CommCare; DHIS2/ORION and so one). I know Human Centred Design (HCD) research approach implementing of sustainable community-based activities in changing norms and attitude. As for evaluations and assessments, I coordinated 3 types of evaluations at Marie Stopes including a needs/demand assessment of a BMGF-funded project on self-injection of the injectable contraceptive Sayana Press at home as well as the End of Project Evaluation, and the End of Project Evaluation of a John Templeton Foundation grant on Family Planning Outreach Teams in Niger. Currently serving as Research Program Manager for the USAID KULAWA/Tipping Point Program at Save the Children, I lead and coordinate program evaluation and scaling assessments and serves as a team leader proving technical support in designing protocols and ToRs, training the evaluation team, and coordinating the data collection process. I’m experienced in conducting and training on the use of quantitative and qualitative (focus group discussions, in-depth interviews) data collection approaches and in capacity building on the use of qualitative and quantitative data analysis softwares such as Dedoose, F4transkript, R, SPSS, etc. I’m also experienced in capacity building and training M&E staff on the use of USAID MEL tools (AMELP, IPTT, PIRS, PMP, DQA, RDQA). I hold a Master’s degree in project management, an ongoing Master degree in Public Health and a Certificate of proficiency in MEAL with an HPass badge issued by the Bioforce Institute.
