In addition, I also raised credit facilities of RM 20 million and an offshore loan of USD 5 million for a new subsidiary company for the manufacture of downstream products, specifically metallic stearates like zinc and calcium stearates, PKO diethanolamide.b) I was directly involved in negotiating a distributor agreement with Norsk Hydro Group of Norway to market the fatty acids in Europe. In respect of the downstream project, I was part of the team negotiating with Harcross Chemicals Ltd of UK for the supply of technology and marketing of metallic soaps in Europe. c) In addition to the local business, I was also involved in feasibility studies on a number of businesses overseas like manufacture of acetic acid in Thailand, a textile mill in Hungary etc. In connection with all these businesses, I have traveled overseas extensively, including Washington for discussions with the IFC.
