I am a Social Impact Entrepreneur and Founder of Urber Nature. I am passionate about sustainability and the conservation of the environment. During my M.Tech education, I was deeply motivated to provide a cost-effective natural alternative to plastic straws. During my research, I discovered a grass that could be converted into disposable straws. In February 2020, I founded Urber Nature under the Startup India platform. With two patents pending, Urber Nature is poised to be an industry disruptor. The startup was incubated by AIC-SKU for research, prototype development and mentoring. GREEN STRAW is Urber Nature’s first product launch into the market and is a 100% plant based biodegradable product. With a deep ethos to change the economic conditions of the tribal women in remote areas of Orissa, I have set up training and skill development for straw making to employ more tribal women in the manufacturing and packaging process and thus create upliftment of an under-resourced community.My mission is to make a plastic-free India and Green straws is the first step in that direction. I aim to build green disposable bio-degradable products so that our consumption is in harmony with the environmentWe are working to serve the Government via offering our straws in Trains, Tourism hotels and Government offices. We are serving the international market to eliminate the use of plastic straws and serving India’s B2B market of Hospitality and Tourism Industry.Our production capacity is poised to increase 10X each year to serve the ever-growing demand for our Green Straws. I have helped move thousands of vendors and businesses from serving plastic straws to our Green straws.Green Straws is an effort to make sustainable living easy and affordable.
