I am enamored with the workings of policymakers and how so much research needed to be done, both through theoretical and formal models, to ensure sound policy, outside of the politics. Building upon my coursework, I helped research policies about New Mexico’s Lottery Scholarship program as a part of the think tank, Think New Mexico. After I worked at the UNM Bureau of Business and Economic Research to address issues such as determining the impact of a local mandatory paid sick leave policy and the financial readiness of private-sector workers. I would like to expand on my past experience, coursework, and extracurricular activities to further contribute to policy analysis. I have more than a year of experience in conducting economic and policy analysis in an academic environment while pursuing my M.B.A. degree with a dual concentration in Finance and Strategic Management & Policy at the University of New Mexico in May 2019. Before graduating with my master’s degree, I graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from the University of New Mexico in 2017.
