The building is certified LEED Gold. Green features of the building included: vegetated roofs, low-emitting building materials, diversion of most construction wastes from the landfill, use of recycled regional and durable building materials, collection of rainwater and using it for flushing toilets and for irrigation.Then I managed the design and renovation of the Biology teaching Laboratories among other projects. The communication between various stakeholders was a key to the success of this project. The focus in the design was to create attractive, ergonomically designed spaces, reclaim natural lighting, create an efficient laboratory layout, provide internet-capable workstations at student work areas to enable electronic lab protocols, e-data collection and submission of work, create an environment that promotes teamwork, and collaboration, and maintain consistency in design, technology, furniture and equipment between labs.I also participated in the planning and control of various projects including Thunder Bay Consolidated Courthouse. The new multi-storey building facility was built to LEED Silver standard, focusing on energy efficiency, healthy indoor environments and reduced greenhouse emissions.

Project ManagerExp Global Inc. Jun 2008 - Oct 2009Canada - UsaI worked on the project controls of the Keystone XL pipeline as part of a team managing the project's design. My main responsibility was to collect data from all stakeholders, review the monthly cost and budget, schedule and safety elements of the design phase then to accurately prepare an extensive report on a monthly and timely manner. The new 800,000 barrels per day crude oil system line is expected to be the safest and most advanced pipeline in North America connecting Alberta, Canada to Houston, Texas in the US. In total the project will consist of over 1,700 miles of 36-inch pipeline, including over 300 miles in Canada and over 1,300 miles within the USA. -
