  • Mocona Group
    Portfolio Integration Manager
    Mocona Group Jan 2024 - May 2024
    London Area, United Kingdom
Greenfield FinTech startup looking to disrupt the banking sector servicing the needs of Family Offices and High Net Worth Individuals by solving the delays encountered during standard Client Lifecycle Management onboarding process, cutting cost and elapsed time to less than ten percent. My role was to create an integration plan between whitelisted products covering Asset & Liability, FX Trading, Alternate Banking Service solution, CLM via Salesforce CRM, Mulesoft, and AWS using a modular distributed architecture to manage cross border GDPR related issues. This involved setting out the vision to the stakeholders, developing an integration plan covering the approach to Single Sign On, common data sharing, network and infrastructure security. This was then communicated to the various development organisations using a ‘Big Room Planning’ process, with planned integration points and a phased delivery plan.
  • Shell – Ev Motorbility
    Agile Project Manager
    Shell – Ev Motorbility Oct 2022 - Dec 2023
    London Area, United Kingdom
Joined the Shell Mobility team, who were a one-year mature agile team, that had grown organically to 50+ people across the globe delivering across Charging, Fleet, Finance etc. The logical next step of splitting the group out into several parallel teams was the task I had been given as the Agile Coach. My initial scope was to define and manage the transition process, recruit new staff to fill voids, manage the risk of key person dependency and act as a Scrum Master for three out of seven of the squads while continuing to deliver on the scheduled pipeline. This transition period successfully ended after four months with all squads fully resourced, integrated and delivering. In January, I was then asked to additionally take on the role of Agile Project Manager for a greenfield team who were developing the key interface layer between Sales/Purchasing of electricity for EV Charging and the GSAP accounting system. The business process was currently executed manually with only a few sites across Europe under management. This project was to integrate all EV charging sites, globally into the one system. Using the traditional Waterfall process, the project was originally predicted to deliver in April 2025. By using Agile delivery, I was able to persuade the stakeholder group that we could do this faster using Agile. Once we had agreement, the team broke the deliverables into standalone MVP’s and started delivering. The team were able to deliver the initial Sales MVP by August 2023 with Purchase MVP on schedule for November 2023 and the entire project planned for completion by April 2024 cutting one year from the original estimate. Following a successful Purchase MVP, my role was transferred offshore due to cost savings.
  • Jaguar Land Rover Uk
    Agile Coach
Jaguar Land Rover Uk Aug 2021 - Sep 2022
    Gaydon, England, United Kingdom
Jaguar Land Rover engineering was undergoing a business wide agile transformation involving 14,000 engineers moving from waterfall development processes into a proscribed methodology as defined by Boston Consultancy Group. The roll out is being conducted in waves, each wave involving additional engineers working in ‘squads’ of six to twelve with a Scrum Master and Product Owner. Each ‘squad’ delivered into a Product Group and ultimately into the overall vehicle being developed.North Highland provided the coaching consultants and I joined at the start of Wave 3 when there were 30 agile coaches on site. Currently we are entering into Wave 5 and we are now up to 80 agile coaches. My role as an Agile Coach was to mentor three squads in agile ways as proscribed by Boston Consulting Group in their JLR Handbook over a rolling three-month duration covering a single Quarterly Business Review (QBR – aka PI). This would involve regular assessments, 1-2-1 coaching of the SM’s & PO’s as well as squad wide group training. Attendance of sprint ceremonies, deep dives into specific aspects of agile ways of working (Back log grooming, Story Pointing/Poker Game, Self-Enablement, etc), participating in Community of Practice sessions, Scrum of Scrums and development of training material were additional activities undertaken. My squads for W3 covered the 2024 release year full electric Range Rover and W4 switched to Infotainment, Phone & Internet connectivity squads.

Systems Test ManagerRole within Bytes was to develop a Systems Testing offering within the IT consultancy based within their London offices. The primary objective was to replace a Microgen team on a client site, for whom Bytes develop an insurance based web product, within a 3 month time scale. The approach taken was:- Identify resource profile and recruit- Identify tools profile, specify, purchase and implement- Organise handover from Microgen staff within 3 months- Zero impact on delivery program to the clientHaving identified the Test Analyst profile, I completed the recruitment of a team of 5 within 2 months. The transition period was a difficult period for the development environment which had to be absorbed to ensure continued application support and enhancements. The role involved: Taking control of the test environments and establishing processes to improve the software regression test and deployment processes, Instigated weekly release cycles with established UAT & regression test periods, Documenting and publishing the test environments utilisation, Liaising with Service Delivery group to resource changes into Production, Representing IT changes to Change Control board, Review test approaches and recommend enhancements, Mentoring in test techniques to Business Analyst and Developer audiences, Defined new change control process for new tracking system – HEAT, Implementing QA Run automation test tool for regression testingDue to the number of applications under support and development, a new process had to be implemented which stabilised the integration, test and release cycles down from a restrictive monthly cycle to a more flexible weekly release. This was achieved by taking control of, and documenting all the development and test environments and setting up a formal refresh, integration, test and release cycle within two overlapping test environments. The adopted process was flexible enough to accommodate between 3 and 10 application changes into production a week.
