I retired from Indian Foreign Service in November 2013 after a 35-year diplomatic career which included three ambassadorial assignments to Algeria (1999-2001), Norway (2005-8) and Nigeria (2008-13). During my long stint in diplomacy, I acquired considerable experience in dealing with international situations in a variety of countries in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe. I retain my specialisation in Arabic language and Middle Eastern Affairs having served in or with them for nearly two decades. This rare combination of experience and expertise has enabled me to offer new perspectives and out-of-box solutions to business stakeholders.I am currently engaged in the following activities: (i) President of Eco-Diplomacy and Strategies - a Consultancy based in New Delhi;(ii) Author of Business Manuals on Nigeria and the UAE;(iii) Eco-Political Commentator on International Issues; (iv) Promoter of the UAE - India Business Council; and (iv) Independent Director at the Board of an Indian Group focused on West Africa.

I was its founder President. The UBC's membership have a collective turnover or asset-base of over 100 billion dollars.The UAE is India's third laegest trading partner with annual volume of over 50 billion dollars in 2015. There are major UAE investments in India totaling around 9 billion dollars. There are nearly one thousand commercial flights every week between the two countries. During the Indian Prime Minister's visit to the UAE in August 2015, the two sides agreed to target $ 75 billion UAE investment in India and 60% growth in trade during next five years.
