As a Theme Leader of Knowledge Management and Capacity Building (KMC), one of the major cross-cutting themes of LI-BIRD, I was an In charge of identifying, creating and disseminating knowledge products using both traditional and new media such as print media (IEC/BCC materials), web media (website, social media), and audio-video media (short videos, PSAs, radio program, and drama); arts and literature (theatre, storybooks, and exhibitions). I assessed the need for Knowledge Management (KM) within the organization and develop strategies and plans to meet those needs.During my tenure, I was able to maintain the quality, visibility, and branding of LI-BIRD knowledge products, including orienting staffs about the importance of branding and visibility.By effective dissemination of our findings and good practices and through professional training, we were able to serve a wider number of farmers in our impact group.* The major role of KMC is to create a conducive learning and sharing environment within LI-BIRD by facilitating sharing of knowledge, transfer of skills, and strengthening the documentation and communication systems. We create targeted messaging for effective knowledge dissemination among staffs, beneficiaries, stakeholders, partners, policymakers, and donors. We facilitate and conduct professional training to build the capacity of development practitioners from civil society, academic institutions, and local government as well as international partners.
