The organization is expected to bring about improvements in the financial discipline and internal control environment in the executive departments for minimizing the possibility of waste and fraud .The role of Auditor General’s office is to strengthen the legislative oversight by providing an independent and objective assessment of the process of governance both at the federal and provincial levels.Key responsibilities of Director of Provincial Audit are • Supervise audit activities to promote accountability and fiscal discipline at provincial level.• Coordinate with key stakeholders such as Public Accounts Committees, Line Departments, Donor agencies, Transparency International, Ombudsman with regards to complaints and improvement of public service delivery and Governance issues.• Preparation of annual audit reports for Government of Sindh• Conduct Performance Audit in order to help improve Public Service Delivery at grass roots level.• Prepare reports and case studies for Provincial line departments for better service delivery and effective internal controls. Key responsibilities of Director of the Project are • Team leader of the project• Coordinate and supervise activities of International and local consultants.• Expedite and supervise project activities to meet the timelines and targets set out in project appraisal document agreed between World Bank and Government of Sindh. • Ensuring Financial management and timely disbursement to international consultants• Preparation of Interim Resettlement Framework Guidelines.• Mapping of key stakeholders in Tharparkar Coal Mining area • Develop communication strategy for the project and coordinate media • Design programs to improve community participation project affected area to minimize involuntary resettlement• Guide and help District Government in addressing community concerns by activating district Mohtasib office, Alternate dispute resolution through active community organizations and other agencies responsible for grievance Management.• Steer the project in such a manner that it helps the government strengthen the enabling policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks suitable to attract qualified investors to develop the coal-to-power sector in an economic, environmentally and socially acceptable manner.
