Experience in multiple industries, including aerospace, defense, consumer electronics, optics, automation, house wares, pool/spa.

-Design and analyze mechanical parts, systems, equipment, and packaging that achieve desired cost, requirements, schedule, and performance objectives. -Conduct feasibility studies, generate concepts, build prototypes, and perform testing on new and modified designs. -Conduct design capability evaluations (theoretical and empirical), as well as product life and reliability analyses. -Perform root-cause failure analysis. Determine and select appropriate materials, as well as fabrication, manufacturing, and finishing methods for parts and assemblies. -Support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. -Interface with clients to assist in the gathering of requirements and objectives, as well as to deliver status updates. -Provide design information to drafting for documentation. Contribute to improvement of internal PLM infrastructure and processes.

-Design motion control products, including pan tilt systems, brushed/brushless motors, and resolvers. -Develop new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, cost reduction. -Interface with vendors and production to ensure delivery schedules. -Confer with management, production, and marketing to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness.

-Resolve complex detail design problems. -Design nacelle hardware using Catia V5. -Release CAD models and engineering drawings within Enovia and TeamCenter. -Serve as an expert resource for other engineers. -Work in a team-oriented environment, and effectively communicate technical issues to team and management.

-Design, analyze, and fabricate mechanical components for agricultural biotech systems. -Develop hydraulic cooling system. -Modify vacuum formed components for increased stiffness and performance. -Direct other engineers and technicians to perform required tasks. -Troubleshoot existing systems.

-Design and development of mechanical hardware and systems for the DIII-D magnetic confinement fusion experiment. -Responsible for design, analysis, fabrication, and commissioning of mechanical components and systems, including magnetic coils, vacuum vessel and high heat flux components, and diagnostic systems. -Direct designers and technicians as required to perform tasks. -Collect and analyze system performance data. -Suggest and implement system modifications to improve performance, reliability and availability. -Troubleshoot existing systems.

-Create new optical and electro-mechanical designs for market leading digital slide scanner. -Implement motion control for sub-micron resolution positioning system. -Integrate optical, mechanical, and electrical subsystems into cohesive unit. -Generate and put into practice quality and testing procedures. -Support manufacturing personnel, interact with machine shops and vendors. -CAD administration of networked SolidWorks/PDM workstations.

-Create mechanical designs for high performance custom video displays and micro displays for medical, commercial, military, and related markets. -Define mechanical system performance, perform detailed design, developmental integration, and testing. -Produce production-level design documentation, procedures, and test plans.

-Perform design and analysis of mechanical systems from concept to production, including design tradeoff justification, project presentation, GD&T, physical testing of product performance and safety. -Conduct multiple modal, stress, thermal, and fluid analyses using COSMOS FEA software. -Use VB to compile enterprise applications with CAD interoperability capabilities.
