Mahnaz Jan Ali serves clients with a rare combination of legal experience in corporate law and institutional investment. Her experience includes acting for banks, borrowers and financial institutions in sophisticated secured and unsecured lending transactions. This includes international and cross-border financings, syndicated loan transactions, acquisition finance transactions, construction and real estate financings, corporate and equipment financings, as well as project financings. She has acted for high profile Canadian and international clients and institutions on various complex renewable energy projects’ acquisitions and financings, including wind farms, solar and hydroelectric. Prior to her current position as partner at Bennett Jones, Mahnaz has cumulated over 10 years of legal experience from her work at another national law firm in Montréal—and almost two years in-house experience.Mahnaz served as a National Committee Member of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada from 2017-2024. She is fluent in English, French and Farsi.
