I'm an award-winning technology (AI/ML) leader, inventor and machine learning scientist with extensive experience in the digital health and software industry.I am the founder and CEO of ExerWatch (exerwatch.com.au) an AI-enabled remote monitoring technology for assessing adherence and correctness of exercises performed by patients and athletes using wearable sensors.I have led large cross-continent projects at IBM Research, where I managed teams of scientists, software engineers and senior stakeholders and successfully delivered outcomes, on budget and on time. I have led idea creation and pitching novel ideas to senior executives as well as technology roadmap and strategy development that impact company direction.I have a solid background in research and obtained my PhD from the University of Melbourne. My research area focuses on machine learning and deep learning techniques on time series data with applications in healthcare and remote patient monitoring. I have worked on Epilepsy seizure detection from wearable sensors in collaboration with Boston Children's hospital, Harvard university. I hold several US patents in my name, mainly focusing on the use of wearable sensors in healthcare. I have authored a book chapter on the use of AI-enabled wearable sensors in healthcare and have published and presented in top AI and in healthcare-AI conferences and journals, including NeurIPS 2019 and the Lancet Ebiomedicine. In the same year, I was selected as one of the top 200 Computer scientists and mathematicians by the Heidelberg Laureate forum and spent a week in Heidelberg, Germany being inspired by laureates of computer science and mathematics. I am a strong advocate for diversity in STEM. In 2020, I was invited to become a STEM mentor by the Australian Academy of Science and technology.
