About Maia Baskerville, Phd
I am a recent PhD graduate of the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis at Yale University. My work in the laboratory of Dr. Stavroula Hatzios has provided me with extensive skill sets in chemical and molecular biology, including LC-MS assay development, click chemistry, CRISPR, RNAi, ELISA, fluorescence microscopy, targeted metabolomics, isotopic labeling, microbial genetics, and mammalian cell culture. I graduated summa cum laude from Wells College with a B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology. As an undergraduate, I pursued viral genomics research at Cornell University, and studied viral regulation of immune cell differentiation at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Outside of my scientific pursuits, I enjoy volunteering, singing, watching scary movies, and maintaining my collection of artsy earrings. Born and bred in New York State, you can usually find me upholding the superiority of its authentic pizza (even though New Haven pies come in at a close second).
