Hi I am Maia Dalager. I go to the University of Minnesota, Morris and am majoring in Elementary Education with a Middle Level Endorsement in Science. In this program I gained experience in 6 different schools through practicum and student teaching experiences, I learned about the importance of differentiation and Inquiry in the classroom, and I practiced teaching using the theories of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky. My time in Morris also allowed me to work along side the Latino population through a tutoring program, become an active part of the Symphonic Winds and Chamber Winds Ensembles, and do research and present at an international conference in Glasgow, Scotland. I hope to continue my own education by working as an educator who strives for social justice in and outside of the classroom.
