Whilst completing my third year of studies and Hallam, I started a part-time role at a small independent vegan and gluten-free baking business; YAY! Flapjacks. My job involved baking products and serving customers, and as time went on, I had more independence and responsibility to help run the shop. YAY! Flapjacks work hard to minimize allergies and create products that are suitable for people with dietary requirements. One aspect of this job that I enjoyed was being able to reassure customers that the food was safe for them to eat. I have coeliac disease myself, and I could relate to their experience, so I often helped and could advise anyone who had been recently diagnosed.

At Clarks I was part of the back-to-school scheme, working on the kids department. I was trained to measure children's feet and provide a one-to-one customer service shopping experience helping pick out shoes that meet the customer's wants and needs.

In 2022 I started my job at Primark working in maintenance, ensuring the department/zone I was working on was kept tidy and presentable. Soon after, I began bringing stock into these zones to ensure the stands and shelves were full. I have also worked on returns and have been trained to work on the tills.

Before I moved to university I worked at Asda as a customer assistant. I started working in the fresh department, doing markdowns and pull-offs and keeping the shop floor clean and presentable for customers. I was also given some ambient shifts, which entailed putting stock out on the shop floor and organising and picking stock to help organise what the store was running low on.
