Hello! I am Maialen Mendizabal, a young social entrepreneur from San Sebastian focused on social innovation and international cooperation. My passion is from equality to co-create impact projects and ventures based on diversity, creating and adapting the necessary methodology in each case. From a young age I have participated in numerous initiatives with social impact as a cornerstone and aimed at the dissemination of culture through music and social entrepreneurship, among others. In a world in constant change and pandemics that interconnect us even more globally, we need to create spaces for collaboration in which cooperation and collective action of a social nature empower people to create positive and sustainable impacts. We need diverse teams, united by a common purpose, with the objective of adding value locally in the continuous process of adaptation towards a new global paradigm. As young people it is time to take ACTION. It is time to get involved and build that place where we feel part of it, to improve it and to create the positive impact that so many seek; we need empowered young people to lead change, to lead action and to be agents of the future. This leadership is already taking place, the pandemic is changing us and it has been an opportunity to generate community, a community that has responded with action and has interpreted the situation as a challenge to change the world. For me, understanding cultural diversity is the key to the co-creation of humanity and the future, seeking solutions to the challenges that interconnect us. That is why I work as a team with the aim of creating new realities for equal opportunities and thus breaking down barriers of inequality through social entrepreneurship. Shared leadership with a vocation for positive social impact is, without a doubt, one of the key capacities that my generation must understand, work on and put into practice to lead the future.
