Dr. Maia is a board-certified Harvard fellowship-trained plastic surgeon. She specializes in cosmetic surgery and non-invasive treatments of the face, breast and body. Dr. Maia practices in Northern Virginia, Washington DC area and Maryland. Dr. Maia started her surgical training at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She trained in aesthetic surgery at the prestigious Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH) in NYC and Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Medical School in Boston.Dr. Maia is dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery. She has presented her work across the United States, Canada and Israel. Dr. Maia has authored over 50 original articles, abstracts, and book chapters in plastic surgery. Dr. Maia is a respected author and her research has received multiple awards, including the “Outstanding Paper Award” by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and more recently the “Best Paper Award” for her research in cosmetic breast surgery. Dr. Maia is the editor for an upcoming plastic surgery book. This book is a worldwide collaborative effort with the leaders in aesthetic surgery.
