My work consisted in analysing the requirements and guiding the team in producing the design documentation and in reviewing their work. Produced the development plan and tracked progress, monitored risks and dependencies and removed project road-blocks. Supported our internal testing team in producing the test strategy & test cases and reviewed their work. At a later stage, led and coordinated all the deployment and acceptance testing in the Vodafone datacentres.Vodafone One Net Web Fax for VF-DE:Lead the team that customized the WIT eFax 1.X Series to meet the requirements for the Vodafone One Net Web Fax product. My work consisted in working with the Vodafone design and datacentre teams in finalizing and documenting all the low level details, including integration points and network design. I also managed the development, testing and deployment teams that did bespoke development work, tested the new software releases and deployed it in the VF-DE datacentres.WIT eFax 1.X & 2.X Series:Designed the WIT eFax 1.X & 2.X Series product and lead the development and testing teams in building the product. My work consisted in writing the Product Description, High Level and Low Level designs, project plan, Product Slide Decks, roadmap, user guides, installation manuals, reviewing test strategies and test cases. I also supervised the development and test teams and do pre-sales design and assessment activities with potential customers.Vodafone One Net Mobile Client (ONMC) for VF-TR:Lead the team that customized ONMC to integrate against the VF-TR’s core network. My work consisted in managing the development, testing and deployment teams in delivering ONMC in the agreed dates and as per the agreed design, which was accomplished, and providing written and verbal progress reports to the customer. -
Solutions ArchitectWit-Software Sep 2012 - Dec 20143045-508 Taveiro, Coimbra, PtVodafone Vehicle Connect (UBI R0.5):Managed a team of 12+ engineers in designing developing and delivering the Vodafone Vehicle Connect platform (UBI R0.5). My work consisted in discussing all the requirements with Vodafone and writing the HLD and LLD documents. Lead all technical discussions with all Vodafone departments and with additional vendors/suppliers. Managed the development team in the production of all software components (backend servers, web portals and mobile apps). Supervised the production of all UI screens. Helped in the debugging and troubleshooting of issues until the platform was successfully accepted in the Vodafone datacentre.Assessment of new devices for Vodafone SOBE:Analysed the Vodafone SOBE solution and defined a process to assess if new devices are eligible to be added to the solution portfolio. My work consisted in the analyses of the solution and defining ways to test it. Then I wrote the test cases to be executed and how to execute them. I also successfully assessed two new devices.Common Client Interface (CCI) for Vodafone OneNet:Co-authored a Solution Design Document (SDD) for an abstraction layer, to be used by OneNet endpoints. My work consisted in defining the architecture, analysis the use-cases and designing the integration with the Vodafone datacentre. Hardware, software and network designs were also documented, along with the integration with the OSS tools (i.e. Netcool, InfoVista and boom agent). -
Senior Software EngineerWit-Software Nov 2011 - Sep 20123045-508 Taveiro, Coimbra, PtIMS application servers with telephony features for Vodafone Group Services:Lead the design and managed the implementation of two IMS application servers with core telephony features for a demo environment. Initially as an IMS architect, gathering and analyzing the product requirements, designing the solution, including the service orchestration and integration with the IMS demo environment. In a more advanced phase of the projects, I managed the development teams that implemented the application servers.Video Share feature for Joyn (RCS-e) Android app:Lead the development and delivery of the Video Share feature for the official GSMA Android app for Joyn (RCS-e). Initially as an advisor but on later stages as the lead developer; coordinating a team of developers and managing all the interactions with the client until the approval and delivery of the feature.Trial in Vodafone Spain, for RCSe client and Android app:Lead the integration of an RCSe client and Android app in the Vodafone Spain network. My main activities consisted in managing interactions with VF-ES, coordinating deliveries, managing resources and integration of the desktop RCSe client in the Vodafone Spain network.Resource Locator for Vodafone Group Services:Wrote the concept idea for the Resource Locator: a software module that integrates Location Based Services in the Operator Console application (VoIP application part of the Vodafone OneNet service). The idea was accepted by Vodafone Group Services. In a later stage, lead the developments of the first phase of a working prototype. My main activities consisted in the integration of the maps API in the Operator Console, and managing the developments of a Location Server and an Android app. -

My main activities consisted in the SIP registration module, voice calls, audio device handling, codec configuration and integration in the IMS of each operating company.RCS Test Fest – Paris 2010:Represented WIT Software in the RCS Test Fest held in January of 2010 in Paris, at the Alcatel-Lucent premises. The product on testing was the WIT PC Communicator (VoIP application) where I developed the voice/video calls.Vodafone Communication Centre for Vodafone Group Services:The Vodafone Communication Centre is a VoIP application part of the Vodafone One Net service (Business market). This application has been integrated in the IMS of various local operating companies (VF-CZ, VF-ES, VF-DE and VF-IT). My main activities consisted in the voice/video calls, audio/video device handling, IP Centrex features and integration in the IMS of each operating company.PC Communicator for Vodacom South Africa:The PC Communicator is a VoIP application, targeted at Consumer market, that connects to the Vodacom network and allows users to make voice/video calls, send and receive SMS/MMS/IM (among other features). My main activities consisted in the video calls, video device handling and application settings.Vodafone Web phone for Vodafone Portugal:The Web phone is a VoIP application, targeted at Consumer market, that connects to the VF-PT network and allows users to make voice/video calls, send and receive SMS/MMS/IM (among other features). InternshipWit-Software Jan 2008 - Jun 20083045-508 Taveiro, Coimbra, PtDeveloped the video calls module for the WIT PC Communicator R2 (The WIT PC Communicator R2 is a softphone application for Windows).The internship consisted in extending the PJSIP API to support video calls signaling (SIP protocol) and video codec negotiation (SDP protocol), extending the PJMEDIA API to support encoding/decoding of H.263 and H.263+ video codecs using the FFMpeg API (RTP/RTCP protocols for streaming), capturing video frames from webcams using DirectShow and displaying the sender and receiver video feeds with OpenGL using hardware acceleration in the GUI animations.On a later stage, the video calls module was extended to support video feeds from other sources besides webcams. The following video feeds were implemented:- Image share: A constant image is transmitted as a video stream.- Slideshow: A group of images are transmitted as a video stream, one after the other with a smoothing effect in the transitions.- Video files: Before transmission, the video files were decoded using the DirectShow API and the video codecs installed in the running windows OS.- Screen Sharing: A selected region of the screen is transmitted as a video stream. -
Solutions ArchitectVodafone Group Services Apr 2012 - Mar 2015London, GbBrazil M2M ProjectWrote the LLD detailing the solution for phases B, C and D of the project. Worked with local Brazilian partners and VDF datacentre teams to work out connectivity and integration issues. Participated in several troubleshooting sessions and helped to diagnose issues.Vodafone Vehicle Connect (UBI R0.6):Transferred knowledge regarding UBI R0.5 to a new VDF team of designers and sales teams. Clarified UBI R0.6 technical requirements to the vendors and documented Vodafone’s dependencies from vendors and proposed solutions for these.Mobile Client for OneNet project (ONMC):Lead the technical delivery of the ONMC. Wrote the LLD detailing all integrations points to deploy in a VDF datacentre, including HW, SW and network designs, OSS tools and platforms, and all need integrations with the VDF local operating company. The main integrations were the NGIN backend, the IP backbone, Netcool, InfoVista, EMC NetWorker, Boom agent and LDAP server for SSO. Lead all technical discussion will all parties of VDF and vendors. Assisted with technical acceptance by writing test cases, designing ways to test the solution and diagnosing problems.Call Admission Control Function for OneNet project:Wrote the HLD for adding admission control (CAC) function to the OneNet deployment of a local VDF OpCo. Defined requirements, architecture, service triggering (iFCs in IMS Core), identifying access links, indicating capacity limit reached, handling emergency calls, recycling access link resources in error scenarios and detailing use-cases.Multi-Service Proxy for SOBE project:Mapped marketing requirements to technical requirements and producing the HLD for the solution. The design included architecture definition, dynamic design, use-case analysis and also non-functional requirements, such as the hosting in a VDF datacentre and integration with all OSS and Backup & Restore platforms. Lead all the technical discussions with the vendor about the solution. -
Technical ConsultantVodafone Group Services Feb 2011 - Mar 2012London, GbTook the role of an IMS architect and worked on several work streams, always under the umbrella of Vodafone OneNet.Authored a white paper about OneNet Service Layer orchestration. My work consisted in analyzing all the available solution for orchestration of the OneNet Service Layer. The paper focused on the evolution of the service layer orchestration to accommodate future OneNet features.Authored several short concept papers about new application servers to extend Vodafone OneNet’s feature set.Authored a concept paper about the integration of OneNet with Vodafone Instant Network. Vodafone Instant Network is a portable GSM radio network that is used by Vodafone Foundation and NGOs in disaster and emergency situations.Co-authored a Concept Paper about OneNet in a Box. This concept paper was produced by a large team with several experts on specific areas. My work focused on the IMS Core, IMS Service Layer and use-case analyses.Authored a Technical Options Paper (TOP) for OneNet Mobile Client R1.5. My work consisted in analyzing and comparing all the possible architectural deployment solution for ONMC.Worked on the High Level Design (HLD) for OneNet Corporate Directory. My work consisted mainly in the integration of the Corporate Directory with the OneNet Presence solution. I also analyzed use-cases about how the end points would make queries to the Corporate Directory.Co-authored a Technical Options Paper (TOP) for Presence. My work consisted on the analysis of marketing requirements, meeting with Presence suppliers to understand their products and interfacing with the leading Vodafone operating companies for One Net (VF Spain, VF Germany, VF Italy, VF UK & VF Portugal) to understand their current solutions for Presence.
