Volunteer as a medical scribe at the Lackey Free Clinic, a free and charitable healthcare center that provides healthcare to uninsured adults on the Peninsula. Document the patient visit from beginning to end into an electronic medical record. Manage patient charts, order prescriptions, and coordinate labwork and imaging under the guidance of a clinician.

Worked as a childcare provider for children of all ages and abilities, with and without disabilities. Provided nannying, babysitting, or tutoring services.

Provided administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the COVID-19 drive-through test sites. Registered patients, collected swab specimens, and updated and filed medical records and insurance reports.

Oversaw volunteer activities in the Volunteer Express Office. Assisted hospital staff in the women’s and pediatric units. Managed the gift shop and patient transport.

Filled high-priority shifts and took the place of high-risk staff at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Volunteered as a donor screener to assess donors for symptoms of COVID-19. Guided patients through the donation process. Supervised sanitation and safety for donors and staff.

Volunteered as camp counselor for O-en Network, a non-profit organization that supports Japanese-American youth and Japanese families living in the DMV area. Mentored and provided care to children 5 to 12 years old and lead activities as senior counselor.
