Maisam Iltaf is a researcher and human rights activist. Iltaf’s research interests include refugee and forced migration, ethnic and cultural politics, identity and memory, and religious radicalization and violent extremism focusing on Afghanistan and Pakistan. He co-founded Rahila Foundation, a nonprofit working for youth empowerment through education and capacity-building programs. Iltaf has also an extensive background in program management, proposal writing, and capacity-building training. Previously, he worked with the American University of Afghanistan and RTP International, among others. Iltaf’s articles have appeared in the Diplomat, the Geopolitics, Global Voices, Al Jazeera English, and KabulNow.
