Beside my studies, I work as a freelancer translator. In 2012-2015, I translated technical content (such as UI descriptions and use cases) for Tieto Finland Oyj mostly from Finnish into English.

I worked as a course assistant for the courses Physical and Chemical Treatment of Water and Waste as well as Modelling and Control of Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes organised by Aalto university's Water and Environmental Engineering master's programme.

I did my Master's thesis at the Department of Built Environment in the Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group. My subject was optimizing energy use in wastewater treatment using dynamic process simulation.

In a group of three engineering students, we studied Greenland's hydropower potential and produced a report on the subject for the Finnish energy company Fortum. In the report, we examined the possibility of covering Europe's and USA's growing energy needs by importing hydroelectricity from Greenland as well as other possible energy production methods in.

In 2009-2011 I was appointed as the protection manager of my housing company. In this role I created a rescue plan for our house and attended a fire prevention course and the Red Cross first aid courses EA1, EA2 and emergency first aid course (valid until March 2016).
