The Asylum Seekers Support Trust (ASST), a division of the Auckland Refugee Council Inc. (which began in 1989), works to create a safe and supportive environment for all asylum seekers. We provide access to information, services and resources so asylum seekers may effectively pursue the determination of their refugee status, and thrive in their new home.

The Human Rights Foundation promotes and defends human rights in Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad, through research-based education and advocacy. We are an independent non-governmental organisation established in December 2001.

Advocated for clients in human rights cases including representing highly vulnerable migrants and refugees before Immigration New Zealand (INZ), the Refugee Status Branch (RSB) and Immigration and Protection Tribunal (IPT). Collaborated with various stakeholder groups such as the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, Auckland District Law Society and Refugee Council of NZ towards the development of government policies impacting asylum processes. Managed Chambers’ internship programme including recruitment, training and mentoring of 40+ University of Auckland and AUT law student interns.
