About Maj Munch Andersen
I strategize, research and lecture on innovation trends, dynamics and governance related to the green economy, the circular economy and the bioeconomy. I investigate and facilitate how to make businesses and their value chains and eco-systems go green and circular and to find the most efficient and forward looking ways to do so. While I'm interested in the pervasive greening of the economy across all industries, I currently research into the transformation of the food-biosystems and water circularity. I am increasingly addressing global greening, including discussing how emerging economies may leapfrog into more circular production and consumption patterns. Throughout my carrier my interest has been to understand how companies transform and go green and circular over time and how innovation and business conditions differ in different types of organisations and parts of the world. Understanding the trade offs and interrelations between economic development, climate change, circular change, land use and biodiversity is a core interest of mine.My policy research, policy teaching and -strategizing centers on creating framework conditions for any type of firm, from the small scale farmer to the entrepreneur and the big multinational, that will make it attractive and easy to go green and circular. I currently lead transdisciplinary research projects seeking to develop high-circular industrial food-bio parks and -regions. Originally a geographer I did my PhD on (green) innovation strategy. I have been amongst the pioneers globally in the development of business oriented eco-innovation research starting in the 1990s, and in the development of green science, technology and innovation policies. I aim to push the green frontier and to create maximum green impact.
