• Act as Stantec’s Western Balkan’s representative with clients, partners and local consultants;• Present Stantec’s strategy for the region, its expertise and experience;• Develop an insightful understanding of the local markets across the Balkans in Stantec’s core sectors;• Build and maintain relationships and create networks locally in Stantec’s core technical areas• Identify and explore new business opportunities locally and feed insights back to the Business Development Team; Training, coaching and mentoring;• Oversee a portfolio of projects at various stages of maturity in the fields of Energy, Environment, Infrastructure and Social sectors within the Western Balkans, in the context of programmes financed by international financial institutions; • Identify and make arrangements for mutually beneficial strategic partnerships/consortium arrangements;• Identify, build and maintain relations with local consultants/ experts; • Oversee the management of/Provide regular (at least weekly) input to the whole Western Balkan’s pipeline on a day-to-day basis, following the tendering cycle for all opportunities, acting in accordance with client and Stantec rules and regulations to deliver attractive bids that respond to the client’s needs in line with Stantec’s Business Development process requirements;• Act as Project Director for all awarded opportunities in the region and ensure the successful delivery of project results to the satisfaction of the client and beneficiary.

Serbia

Strategic Advisor for a 1.4M eur EU-funded project in Serbia "Cadastre for Small Hydro Power Plants". The overall objective of the project is to reform the energy policy of the Republic of Serbia by meeting EU Acquis through increased use of renewable energy. The purpose of this contract is implementation of Serbian Energy Development Strategy in the renewables sector by encouraging and facilitating investments in small hydro power plants (SHPPs) potentials. The expected results include updated Small Hydro Power Cadastre in electronic format with real data from the field and new locations entries including trained staff in GIS software use, and improved awareness on the new Cadastre for Small Hydro Power Plants.

Montenegro

Coordinated the EU-funded project with the aim to support the Government of Montenegro, in particular the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the municipalities to prepare the National Waste Strategy Document on which to base the National Waste Management Plan 2013-2018 which will support the effectiveness in controlling the pollution from solid waste. The purpose of the project was to assist the municipalities in preparing and implementing Local Waste Management Plans. Responsible for overall project coordination, management of the team of international and local experts, quality control, monitoring and reporting to the Client (EU) and the beneficiary.

Montenegro

Key expert on the EU-funded project ''Raising Environmental Awareness" in Montenegro with the aim to assist the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MSDT) and Environmental Protection Agency in developing the strategy and action plans for increasing environmental awareness of different stakeholders through created cooperation mechanisms involving NGOs, professional organisations, businessess, governmental organisations and institutions, educational institutions and media. The expert was particularly responsible for developing and implementing a survey on the level of public awareness in Montenegro followed by a SWOT analysis, drafting of public awareness strategy and action plans for the Ministry and implementation of public awareness campaign on raising of environmental awareness at the national and local level including preparation of the media buying plan for the one year campaign.

Coordinated the 1,5M EUR EU-funded project with the aim to contribute to sustainable development in Serbia by enhancing capacities in the energy sector to use renewable energy sources and efficient usage of resources according to EU standards. The purpose of this project was to build the capacity in the energy sector which will lead to the implementation of the rational use of renewable energy sources, namely geothermal energy utilisation and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) production.Responsible for overall project coordination, management of the team of international and local experts, quality control, monitoring and reporting to the Client (EU) and the beneficiary - the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

Bosnia And Herzegovina

Coordinated EU-funded project “Support to meet the requirements of the Energy Community Treaty for SEE with emphasis on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy”. The aim was to assist in the reform of the energy sector in BiH and to create a country wide energy market which is regulated and integrated into SEE and the EU in line with commitments to the Energy Community Treaty (EnCT), Energy Charter Treaty, Kyoto Protocol and all aspects of the Acquis Communautaire relating to EE, RES and energy sustainability.The project included: 1) Preparation of EE and RES demonstration projects; 2) Institutional and technical capacity building to prepare feasibility studies, business plans, energy audits and other related services for EE and RES projects; 3) Improvement of public education; 4) Improvement of legal framework.

Coordinated an EU-funded technical assistance project for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy to prepare Kyoto Protocol Midterm Implementation Plan in the Energy Sector and the Plan for the Implementation of the EU legislation regarding the quality of fuels and the sulphur content in the certain liquid fuels followed by the proposal to establish the adequate System for the fuel quality monitoring. Responsible for overall project coordination, management of the team of international and local experts, quality control, monitoring and reporting to the Client.

Consultancy services regarding the launched USAID project “Growth Opportunities for Serbia – GO Serbia” to generate rapid and sustained economic growth in Serbia, increase the productivity, competitiveness, and growth of private enterprises in high potential sectors, and improve the business enabling environment through policy and institutional development within the high potential sectors. The expert’s assignment was to analyse objectives, principal activities and key resources and local businesses for the project. The expert analysed the political and economic situation, ED priorities, key Serbian organisations and performed interviews with interested groups, followed by preparation of the Rationale and background document on the economic and political situation in the country.
