Projects and Facilities Manager, 2003 till 2011• Report to the VP Engineering and manage the civil, mechanical and electrical engineering departments.• Coordinate and manage all shipyard expansion contracts, major and minor capital expenditure projects, and plant improvement projects, processing on average 200 requests a year ranging from procurement of new production equipment to small refurbishment projects.• Manage the effective delivery of plant maintenance services entertaining over 1400 maintenance requests per year including planned maintenance and repairs, tracking progress on a computerised maintenance management system.• Currently managing several expansion projects including 155 m quay wall extension (contractor: Dutco Balfour Beatty) 3-storey administrative building (contractor: Alba Tech) and a twin warehouse (contractor: Amana).• Completed contracts valued at AED 450 m including contracts for developing a master plan, detailed design and value engineering, dredging, fabrication and installation of a 2000t Syncholift for lifting ships and marine and heavy civil works and construction of industrial workshops, administrative offices and camp facilities. Site Project Manager, Shipyard Construction, 1999 to 2003• Coordinated the construction of shipbuilding facilities including 90 m ship lift piers, a 70 m quay wall, a 4 rail system serving several dry berths and a side transfer pit, and a 37 m high, 68 m wide ship construction hall with 35 t overhead cranes.• Led a site team of engineers, inspectors and surveyors drawn from Halcrow, the consultant and DG Jones and Partners, the quantity surveyors along with in-house engineers and surveyors.• Coordinated the work at site of multiple contractors like Overseas AST Arabtec JV, Al Hamed, Square General and ASCON maintaining cohesiveness in project execution.
