About Majella Eales
I have been working with the Salvation Army Bridge Program since 2016. I worked in the residential program initially, however after a few years, I was interested in a new challenge. I was then tasked with setting up and managing a new Aftercare Program to keep clients engaged post residential treatment. This program was extremely successful and provided support for many program participants up until 12 months post treatment. More recently, I have been coordinating the implementation of a peer workforce to work alongside AOD Specialists at the Bridge Program. The Salvation Army has been working alongside DEN, YFCC and Holyoake to increase opportunities for peer workers in the AOD sector in Tasmania. This is a very exciting project!I currently also manage the Family Support Program at the Bridge. Our "Courage & Connection" Program seeks to educate and empower families and loved ones of people with a substance dependency, providing peer support as well as practical tools to assist with the challenges of substance use and mental health concerns. We also provide a Family Support Group, where family members and loved ones can meet up for a coffee and informal support.
