I am a Principal Engineer at Ahana, an IBM company. I am actively contributing to the Velox project, a next-generation high-performance execution engine. You can learn more about Velox from my talk herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBvTHAUMLYUIn my free time, I work on thinning the line between Big Data and High-Performance computing. There are many similarities between these two domains.I graduated with a Ph.D. from the CS department at Rice University. My doctoral research was to develop portable programming models for heterogeneous processor architectures.My research interests and experience include building language, compiler, and runtimes for heterogeneous architectures.Other projects I worked on are available at www.majetideepak.comSpecialties: Big Data Architectures, Parallel Programming Languages, Heterogeneous Architectures (CPU, GPU), Compilers and Runtimes.
