Dr. Kazmi has an extensive experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Embedded Computer Vision. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan, and also holds key research positions, including Co-Principal Investigator at the Neurocomputation Lab under the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence and Head of the Embedded Systems and Computer Vision Lab.Her contributions to AI and technology have earned her multiple prestigious awards, including the House of Habib, Ali Suleman Habib 2nd and 3rd Engineering Excellence Awards (2023, 2024), and the National Engineering Excellence Award 2024, underscoring her dedication to innovation and educational leadership.With deep expertise in FPGA technology, digital system design, and hardware accelerators, Dr. Kazmi leads initiatives in AI hardware acceleration, edge AI, and IC design capacity building at NED University. Her industry-funded projects span applications in healthcare, industrial automation, quality assurance, local language digitization, and assistive technologies for the blind and deaf. Additionally, as Director of the Asma M Hashmi STEM Centre, Dr. Kazmi promotes STEM education for students from schools to higher education, offering train-the-trainer programs, workshops, and engineering-focused courses to empower Pakistan’s next generation of innovators and contribute to economic growth.
