- Threat Intelligence Research: lead the charge on analyzing cybersecurity attacks including RF against Software Defined Radios, trends, and methodologies using unclassified/classified Threat Intelligence. This includes working with government/academic/commercial researchers and institutions, operational technology research labs, commercial companies and public and private cybersecurity information sharing groups (e.g., ISACs) to research and investigate in more detail vulnerabilities including zero days and techniques that could impact critical national infrastructure, defense, and our networks. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of the engineering, data science, product management, product marketing, and senior leadership to enhance the company’s detection and response capabilities. - Active and hands-on participation in Red Team Exercises and Penetration Testing: employ simulated adversary threat-based approaches to expose and exploit vulnerabilities and weaknesses to improve the security of both ours and customer products and networks. Replicate tactics and techniques used by modern attackers, common network exploitation and penetration techniques as well as common software exploitation techniques. Develop attack plans to meet the specified objectives and coordinate with other Red Team Operators to achieve these goals. Provide constructive feedback to the defenders and product teams on their successes and failures. Make automation and security assessment tool development and implementation recommendation that assist with Red Team exercises and Penetration Testing.

Designs, implements, and teaches the cyber security curriculum (CSIT 186 and CSIT 188) at Miracosta College

Serves as expert systems penetration tester responsible for system level cyber tests and Systems of Systems Cyber Developmental Testing and subsequent problem analysis of tactical systems computer software and command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) architecture integration problems. Participates in the C4ISR Architecture analysis, evaluations, and decisions involved with testing, designing, or maintaining computer software and documentation. Applies an extensive and authoritative knowledge of the field of computer science as well as expert knowledge of the assigned program area.Acts as test director during the testing cycle for fielded systems and for tests and evaluations of developing systems being considered for acquisition by the Marine Corps. Directs a team of testers in the performance of tactical systems testing utilizing test scripts, notes, recorded test data and the standards for the functions under test.Supervises two or more employees. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees; provides technical oversight; develops performance plans; evaluates work performance of subordinates; and provides recommended ratings of record. Interviews candidates for subordinate positions. Recommends hiring, promotion, or reassignments. Takes disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands; identifies developmental and training needs of employees; provides and/or arranges for development and training.

As a Professor of Systems Engineering Management, applied knowledge, experience, technical, managerial and leadership skills to teach and facilitate higher levels of learning for the Department of Defense Acquisition workforce. Presented and facilitated instruction both in classroom and through web-based or virtual learning modes. (1) Developed and conducted lectures, cases, simulations, and workshops. (2) Prepared course material (student and instructor) according to current instructional systems design technology. (3) Developed course schedules and arranged for guest speakers. (4) Developed and analyzed student assessments and provided student counseling to insure the highest degree of learning. In support of the Defense Acquisition University mission, provided performance support through consulting efforts to Defense Department, military services and other federal agencies providing technical guidance and assistance on various matters including those of unusual complexity or without precedence. As a faculty member, participated in professional research as a subject matter expert to insure curriculum currency and also to enhance the skill set and processes in the Systems Engineering field of expertise.

Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity's mission is to validate and verify MAGTF systems integration and interoperability. MCTSSA is the home of the "VII MEF" -- representative of a MEF C4I infrastructure in an instrumented, repeatable systems of systems integration environment.The mission of the SE&ISD is to provide USMC decision makers with objective interoperability and integration assessments of Command, Control, Computer, Communications, Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance (C4ISR) systems. The SE&I Support Division operates and maintains the System Integration Environment (SIE) and ensures an accurate reflection of current MAGTF C4ISR systems and network architecture.The SIE provides the Marine Corps with a unique capability to test and assess new and existing C4I systems in a controlled, repeatable, re-configurable environment.
