I am responsible for leading a consulting practice that equips and empowers secular leaders and clergy, churches, and organizations, for compelling and effective public witness.

I taught courses in preaching, leadership, popular culture, and black politics and religion. I also served as Associate Director of the Lilly Endowment, Inc. funded Deep Calls to Deep Preaching Excellence Program.

My responsibilities include the creation and teaching of masters and doctoral level preaching courses. Also at VTS, I am also the Associate Director of Deep Calls to Deep, a Lilly Foundation preaching initiative.

I taught a Doctor of Ministry course on Preaching, Leadership, and Community Literacy.

I taught a course on preaching and leadership for the Doctor of Ministry students.

I taught courses in preaching and popular culture, exploring the intersection of religion and politics.

I taught a course on Exploring and Developing a Hip Hop Homiletic for the M. Div. curriculum.

During my time at The House of Hope Atlanta, I managed 23 ministries, more than 120 ministry leaders, and over 800 volunteers. I redesigned Christian Education and Formation opportunities and curriculum leading to over 650 weekly attendees (led by over 100 teachers, 5 Divisional Superintendents, and a General Superintendent). I oversaw online and in-person educational opportunities, designed an online membership program for our virtual members, created media resources for sermons, and digitized archived sermons. I was responsible for managing and growing all New Members/Assimilation activities including our 10-week new members orientation (in-person and online), created the Super Saturday one-day new member orientation that hosted between 400 – 600 new members per year. The House of Hope Atlanta (The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church) is an African American congregation worshipping and operating on a 60 acre, 7 building campus, with a membership of over 10,000 people in the city of Decatur, Georgia. At one time, Outreach Magazine considered The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church one of fastest growing churches in America, with over 1000 people joining every year from 2007 – 2013.
