A native of Houston, Texas, Makayla is a current undergraduate student at Baylor University studying a B.A. in Corporate Communications. She is expected to graduate May 2025. She recently was accepted to Baylor’s Accelerated Masters in Communication program and is expected to receive her Master’s in 2026. She has proven success in public speaking, and organizational leadership. A critical thinker and problem solver, driven by competition to exceed expectations. An innovative leader who seeks to encourage and inspire others to succeed through active listening and engagement and who can work well under pressure with a proven ability to convey and execute strong ideas. Makayla currently serves as the Vice President of the Nu Iota Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and was inducted into the Theta Lambda Chapter of Order of Omega in November 2023. She also serves as the Co-Woman’s Coordinator for FaceTime With God. Some of Makayla's career aspirations include working with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Student Affairs.Outside of her academic ventures, Makayla loves to cook, enjoys reading, expressing herself through writing or new ideas, dancing, and spending quality time with friends and family.
