Makeba Lloyd is the founder of Scentonomy and Butter By Keba, two tech enabled wellness and personal care brands focused on highly effective personal care products and holistic wellness services, curated for the workplace and events.Scentonomy is a service and products based platform which allows clients to access specialized wellness services through strategically curated in-person experiences such as aromatherapy, sound therapy, yoga, meditation and breathwork. It also allows online and mobile app users to personalize aromatherapy blends by taking an aroma quiz that utilizes a data driven algorithm built by certified aromatherapists. All aromatherapy products are formulated with organic therapeutic-grade essential oils that are tested for purity and holistic vibrational quality.In Makeba's former professional life she was a lead new development sales associate representing New York City real estate developers across the boroughs with a collective portfolio of over $1 Billion. After a trip through Ancient Egypt she discovered the benefits of engaging the therapeutic practice of aromatherapy and perfumery, not only as a self-care routine, but also a method of creating her own scentscapes (a term coined by Egyptology Professor Dora Goldsmith) using products she'd formulate under the brand Butter By Keba. She credits her aromatherapy acumen for enhancing her sales presentations.Later on her journey she started Scentonomy. Creating and building the platform stems from her own experience as a full-time caregiver to her Mother who, as a healthcare professional, was a huge advocate for holistic complementary health care options. She contributes her time, resources and knowledge to Harlem's youth in partnership with local Non-Profit Hands That Make A Difference for their Anti-Violence and Financial Literacy Initiative 'Save Our Seeds". Her Aromatherapy and Perfumery Workshop series has become a component of the program’s ongoing curriculum.Ms. Lloyd holds a B.S. in business management, certifications in Aromatherapy, Egyptian Perfumery and Advanced Classic Perfumery. She is a member of the National Association For Holistic Aromatherapists, The Healing Project and Herbalist Without Borders. Makeba continues to expand her knowledge in areas of aromatherapy and complementary wellness through continued education under institutions such as the School For Aromatic Studies and the American College of Healthcare Sciences where she has earned a certificate in Aromatherapy for Cancer Care, Research & Protocols.
