Makeba Riddick - Woods is Chief Executive Officer for The Young Dreamers Agency, LLC. A songwriter/singer/music producer and music entertainment professional with 20+ years of experience in the music business, she has guided and enhanced the careers of various GLOBAL recording artists, producers and songwriters, through her hit songs and A&R guidance . Originally from Baltimore, MD, Makeba earned her Bachelors of Music in Music Business/Management from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She began her career as a songwriter/producer at EMI Publishing, which would later be purchased by Sony/ATV. Makeba’s pop songs topped the charts in various countries with radio hits on the biggest superstars in the world including Rihanna, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and more. In 2009, Makeba relocated from New York City to Hollywood, CA, and was managed by Roc Nation Management and was afforded the opportunity to offer her A&R skills with a position at Epic Records/Sony under the leadership of Rob Stringer. All while penning some of the biggest pop songs of her entire career.In recent years upon relocating back to the East Coast, Makeba served as Music Producer and Songwriter on the hit TV series, Empire and Star on Fox Network, Greenleaf on the OWN network and songwriter on BET series Sundays Best, even penning the season finale, show stopping song, “It’s Not the End of Your Story” performed by Sundays Best winner, Melvin Crispell III. Along with making a huge mark in the world of TV through her songs, Makeba has dominated the gospel charts with hit songs like “Wont He Do it” performed by Koryn Hawthorne which topped the Billboard Gospel Airplay charts for a record breaking 52 weeks, making the song Billboard Music song of the year in 2019. Following that, Makeba would pen another gospel smash for Tyscott artist, Bri Babineaux’ titled “I Will Wait”, which has so far amassed over 12 Million in global streams and a 3 week stay atop the Billboard charts. In more recent years Makeba has created her own Artist Services Agency called The Young Dreamers Agency. This company offers various a-la-carte music services for budding music artists and creatives looking to enhance their music careers.
