Provided executive strategic support to April Barker during her candidacy for Bellingham Mayor. Built, trained, and managed a team of dedicated volunteers in a rigorous field campaign; as a team we visited 20,367 doors across all of Bellingham’s neighborhoods from April to November 2019. Developed language and implemented a strong social media/email communication plan based on message testing at the doors, candidate speeches during campaign events, and guidance from political consultants. Tracked campaign budget, organized fundraising events, maintained donor relations, and supervised volunteer fundraiser coordinator; raised over $82,000 between these efforts and individual candidate donation requests.

Joined the efforts of an ad hoc community coalition and immigrant/ refugee non-profit Asian Counseling and Referral Services to plan for the future of the Seattle Community Farm (SCF) in south-central Seattle. Developed best practices for the 2018 growing season based on a robust literature review, key informant interviews, and community survey data. Delivered recommendations for effective management structures, funding strategies, and community outreach.

I reached out to schools and youth-serving organizations in Bellingham, WA to connect underserved youth to water activities and the environment on Bellingham Bay. Created advertisement materials in both Spanish and English.

Carried out qualitative research on coding practices for mental health visits in School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) to supplement related quantitative data gathered one year prior. Research included conducting focus groups and key informant interviews with SBHC mental health providers. My final deliverables included a full report, a two-page infographic summarizing my findings, and a presentation to staff at PHSKC.
