I am a Working Student at appliedAI Institute for Europe gGmbH, where I leverage multimodal large language models (MLLMs) to tackle multimodal fake news. I am also pursuing my Master of Science in Computational Linguistics at University of Stuttgart, where I explore the intersection of natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI.My Master's Thesis focuses on using reasoning techniques such as Chain of Thought, Tree of Thoughts, Graph of Thoughts, and Chain of Verification to generate veracity labels and explanations for textual claims and images in the context of political fact-checking. I employ and compare the performance of various LLMs, such as GPT-4, GPT-4V, LLaVA, Zephyr-7B, and Mistral 7B, and incorporate RAG functionality to retrieve relevant information from the internet. Previously, I worked as a Research Assistant at University of Stuttgart and as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Mahindra University, where I conducted and published research on visualization of abstract concepts using image generation models such as Dall-E 2, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, and on the analysis of COVID-19 metaphors in India using topic modelling, sentiment analysis, and emotion analysis. I am passionate about applying generative AI tools to solve real-world problems and to advance the state-of-the-art in NLP and multimodal understanding. I am looking for opportunities to collaborate with and learn from other researchers and practitioners in the field of generative AI and multimodal fact-checking.
