SCRIPT DOCTOR/ GHOSTWRITER / EDITOR / TRANSLATOR / STORY CONSULTANT / RESEARCHERWith Celtic roots but brought up in the London area, I've never wanted to be put in a box - gaining experience in creative industries wherever I find myself. That includes developing story content in Manhattan, translating plays in Paris, adapting classics in Edinburgh, compiling multimedia pitches in Manchester, story lining in London, travel-blogging from Asia and… ghostwriting on the web.I’ve carried out projects for a range of companies, including BAFTA, BBC/CBBC, Channel 4, Cruor Publishing, Cornerstones, Faber and Faber, Film 4, Granada, House of Editors, Lime Pictures, The Prince’s Trust, The Royal National Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Times Travel section and UNICEF. As tutor for the John Yorke Story Script Development course, I provide training on the key elements of story-building, and also mentor a range of writers across genres and formats: acting as a script doctor to help fix problems for screen and print projects. I've guided a number of pieces through to production or else publication. Some of my most enjoyable work has involved devising, story lining and editing - from inception - a range of multimedia initiatives alongside writers such as Naomi Alderman, Malorie Blackman, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Deborah Moggach, Mark Ravenhill, Michael Rosen and Jeanette Winterson.My guarantee: responding to a brief within deadline and ensuring quality - always, anytime, anywhere.
