At Toll Mal has been responsible for delivering a wide range of major logistic facilities during a period of rapid growth and expansion for the Toll Group. The projects in Mal’s portfolio have been integral to the Toll Group’s Global strategy. The scope of deliverables incorporates alignment with the global strategy cascading down to the business units and end customers.In the last two years significant projects include the redevelopment of the Loyang Offshore Petroleum Supply Base in Singapore. Originally scoped as a $390M project over 3 years, under Mal’s leadership the development team has accelerated the project and reduced the cost with a current forecast being 9 months ahead of schedule and $70M under budget. A concurrent project includes the construction of new logistic facilities in Japan in parallel to the strategic re-alignment of 106 operating sites including a portfolio sell-off of 75 free hold sites.In delivering projects of this nature and size it is Mal’s proficiency in cross cultural communications with an emphasis on building effective relationships that has led to a track record of successful outcomes that exceed corporate and customer expectations.Key Attributes:• High level of inter-personal skills, ability to build strong relationships across the project stakeholders and to liaise effectively with internal and external parties at all levels.• Ability to take a complex operational brief and turn this into a functional and practical design, followed by tendering, management and control through to delivery.• Ability to manage, control and direct large multi disciplinary teams.
