I was a member of UC's Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (RHEST) for 10 weeks. I was a member of a two man team tasked with developing a piece of software to reverse engineer the bitstreams used to program FPGAs. I personally:- Built software to automatically simulate and analyze targeted FPGA hardware components- Researched the hardware format and architecture of Xilinx 7-series FPGAs using AMD’s design tools- Deconstructed the format and layout of the bitstreams used to flash FPGA hardware- Designed a Verilog file to instantiate hardware with standard settings, placement, and routing to allow for an in-place analysis of the bitstream to identify the location of said settings- Created a Monte Carlo style simulation to determine the location of timing critical parameters in a bitstream- Developed Vivado’s TCL to create a program to automatically compile Verilog files into bitstreams with a headless instance- Created a program to analyze the differences between a standard bitstream and one that had been “fuzzed” in order to locate bits that correspond to a setting in a bitstream

- Operated as a controls engineer/industrial integrator in the programming department of ICA- Developed and implemented integration methods to incorporate a fleet of cutting edge Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) into new or existing plant infrastructure- Researched multiple avenues of integration, tested software packages and generated proposals- Designed large scale control software using Ignition, creating connections between all relevant systems pertaining to plant operation

-Coordinated successful integration of optical/propulsion hardware and secure communication software, to enable the production of aircraft via versioned schematics- Developed skills in: harness production, CAD/FDM production, optical and wireless hardware integration, rapid prototyping skills, research and development- Participated in daily scrum meetings following the Agile methodology- Managed the revision process of published engineering documents/code
