About Malachi Murljacic

I am passionate and driven Kunja (Aboriginal) person, with demonstrated experience in Indigenous Affairs - public policy and programs, international relations, social entrepreneurship and non-government organisations. With a passion for people, I demonstrate strong networking, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.I hold a Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship & Innovation) from the University of Canberra, 2020.Throughout my academic career, I studied, lived and worked overseas in Fiji (2017), Canada (2018/19), China (2019) and Thailand (2019/20) as a New Colombo Plan scholar. I have work alongside, with and for international Indigenous peoples. Throughout my studies, I sought to better understand international Indigenous economic development through social entrepreneurship. In 2025 I will be undertaking my Masters on Kunja language revitalisation.I am passionate about utilising my skills and strengths towards positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

    As a component of my 2019 New Colombo Plan Scholarship, I was an intern with the United Nations Development Programme at the Regional Hub in Bangkok, Thailand. I worked within the Youth Co:Lab team and my project was to assist in conceptualising and developing a new Indigenous platform within Youth Co:Lab. We held the first Regional Dialogue on Youth Indigenous Social Entrepreneurship in Bangkok from 20-22 January 2020, which brought together 20 First Nations participants, from 15 Asian countries, from both community organisations and social enterprises. As well as the organisation and programming required for the conference I assisted with planning and delivering the business development workshops alongside guest speakers.
