Served as Architect and Tech Lead for the Preferences Center Project. Designed a system to move all customer preferences out of the mainframe and into AWS, where it can be efficiently queried using the Datalog language against the distributed in-memory graph database Datomic built atop DynamoDB for persistence. Designed and partially coded a real-time system atop IBM MQ to keep the system’s more than 2.5 billion data points up-to-date in AWS. Wrote an ETL process in Java to push data back to the mainframe in batch using S3 as intermediate storage.Architected and led the development of the Revenue Recognition Project. In order to be in compliance with ASC 606 standards, designed an integration in collaboration with Rev Stream (a third party vendor who performs financial support). Set up and configured a Pentaho ETL server in EC2 backed by a RDS PostgresQL for storage, using AWS DMS to move data from the vendor’s data store to this database. Wrote Java ETL processes to synchronize the data between mainframe and RDS PostgresQL using S3 as intermediate storage.Participated in planning, analysis, testing and implementation efforts for migrating the applications from on-premise mainframe to zCloud at IBM facility in Poughkeepsie.Participated in the yearly PCI audits and quarterly SOX Audits.

Served as data architect in the development ofCustomerService Portal, for hosting the Time Inc titles. It is a service-oriented architecture, consisting of a pure UI layer developed on Salesforce cloud, merchandising logic and product catalog services developed on AWS, personalization layer overlay to the UI provided by Maxymiser tool, and a RESTful interface to the legacy fulfillment application running on mainframe.Programmed logic to migrate the offer service application from mainframe to Customer Service Portal and to integrate the fulfillment application with EC2 webservice APIs. Used AWS S3 Java SDK to import/export data between mainframe and S3.Led the development effort to reduce credit card footprint in the legacy fulfillment application for PCI compliance. New token algorithm was developed to store tokens in place of credit card numbers. Around 1 million credit card data was migrated from 3DES to AES encryption format and assigned tokens and stored in a DB2 token vault with RACF protection. Participated in code walk-through and review with external information security vendor. Also developed started task application to provide token to the ePay application running on Websphere, in real-time using IBM MQ Series.Led the effort to restructure the subscriber data to eliminate future maintenance. This involved modifying around 900+ Assembler and COBOL programs and converting around 500 million subscriber data for 90+ magazine, with 60 hours non-stop installation window.Participated in Disaster Recovery ExercisesImplemented various real-time payment options like Apple pay, Amazon pay, Android pay etc, using IBM MQ Series as queue interface for data transfer between legacy fulfillment application and webservice API running on WebSphere on z/OS.Worked on wide variety of projects involving changes to Assembler and COBOL programs to support / enhance the high volume online transaction processing system that runs on CICS.
