RTI Estates is a joint venture company set up with the sole purpose of acquiring a large multi tenanted commercial property in Dorchester, this property is actively managed by the Redtale team. I take overall responsibility for the asset the business planning and ensure the agreed business strategy is delivered as planned.

I formed a partnership with Morgan Sindall Investments plc to deliver a major mixed use regeneration scheme including housing, hotel and football stadia. I instructed and managed third party suppliers in line with set budgets and business plans as well as managing the day to day activities including liaising with tenants and attending and chairing monthly board and management meetings.

https://www.aster.co.uk/I am appointed to the Aster Group Audit and Risk Committee, this position came about as part of the Aster Group governance restructure. My years of commercial property experience acts as third eye to help monitor controls and evaluating risks from an external perspective.

I became Chairman of Synergy Housing after the merger between Synergy housing and Aster Group was concluded in the autumn of 2012. My relatively short time as Chairman at Synergy has been engrossed in guiding them through a period of significant change for Synergy Housing. The Synergy Housing board has gone from a group board to a subsidiary board and has recently been fully absorbed into the Aster Group.

The NHC was a relatively new committee and has delegated authority on development matters regarding housing developments at Synergy Housing. My role as Chairman was to ensure that the committee is steered through and maintained its overall purpose and achieves its defined objectives. I gained the position through formal process and helped set up the committee. Since my appointment, the NHC now has set terms of reference and financial tolerances and clearly defined, measurable objectives.

Zebra was set up to carry out commercial activities for Synergy Housing Group predominantly in property development. Zebra’s business plan was set to turn over £5 million per year and make 20% net profit in 5 years. As Chairman from day one I have been instrumental in its formation, structure and forward planning. I Chaired the Board and promoted and championed Zebra. It has changed its plan to reflect the downturn and is set to deliver on several open market units and make a profit in 2016.

https://www.aster.co.uk/When Synergy Housing merged with Aster I was appointed as vice chairman of Aster Homes the development subsidiary of the Aster Group. Aster Homes has a pipeline of C.600 homes per year of all tenure and the Aster Homes board has recently entered to significant JV Company with plc house builder. During my time with Aster Homes it has expanded its operations from that of a typical HA development arm delivering affordable homes with grant to that of a multi-faceted commercial development company not solely reliant on grant funding.

After joining the Synergy Board initially as the representative for Weymouth and Portland Housing in 2001, I was an independent representative in the interest of Zebra Property Services and the NHC. I have also previously sat on the Audit and Risk Committee.

I established the business to provide comprehensive consultancy services to a portfolio of clients primarily in the fields of project management, business development and business recovery. I successfully delivered a new concept retail environment valued at more than £200,000 on time and within budget, including recruiting and leading a specialist team resulting in the opening of a flagship store and five small retail units in just two months. I provided initial support to a newly established company with business planning, attracting shareholders and securing initial funding before providing ongoing advice to the backers and shareholders and assisting on forward strategy. I played a key role in transforming a £400,000 turnover business that hadn't realised a profit for three years and had accrued debts of £180,000. I restructured the company resulting in an 85% reduction in debt and brought the company into profit whilst increasing the turnover to £500,000. I closed two under performing businesses and liquidized the assets to return cash to the shareholders.

I entered the football club in a fire sale situation and proceeded to put a management structure in place to ensure its survival. Including;• Set up a board and a finance committee• Re branded the business • Robustly turned the company into a business• Negotiated payment plans with banks, VAT and the Inland Revenue to ensure survival • Instigated a robust cost saving plan to include reducing staff numbers and packages• Dealt with the press and TV • Chaired press conferences
