● Registers Emergency Department patients: arrives patients in Epic, places ID band on patient and checks for accuracy, captures all demographic and insurance information, verifies insurances, documents emergency contacts and guarantor, create hospital account, assures all consents and other hospital forms are signed by parent/guardian/MD. Use of JACO Ultra-lite 100 WOW Cart. Collect Emergency Department co-pays from patients when applicable and posts to correct account. Registers all trauma and resuscitations patients. Tapes all traumas and resuscitations while in progress. Follows direction of trauma attending in paging additional staff as needed, etc. Monitors and responds to the patient Nurse Call System. Pages MD/nurse/tech/trauma team etc. as applicable. Sends out all trauma, resuscitations, and disaster/de-con pages to appropriate ED teams. Responds to patient requests via nurse call. Downloads outside radiology scans as needed. Notifies PACs that scan is ready. Answers all incoming calls to teams. Pages MDs for consults and other needs as requested or required. Completes outpatient arrivals or registrations.
