Head Of Earth Observation Campaigns Section
CurrentMy responsibilities as Head of Section include:- The identification of campaign requirements (scientific, technical and programmatic) in consultation scientists, ESA project teams and satellite mission managers- Management of the year campaign activity plan including costing, allocation of human resources and responsibilities, monitoring of implementation and reporting of activities to ESA member states via their national delegations- The implementation of specific campaign activities including contractual arrangements, elaboration of experiment plans, monitoring of campaign execution, coordination of fieldwork and review of the campaign reporting.- International collaboration in field measurement campaigns supporting satellite calibration/validation and airborne science and remote sensing. This includes managing an active collaboration with national programmes in ESA member states and active collaboration with NASA and other space agencies.In addition to scientific campaigns, I'm responsible for mission science activities in support of Earth Observation radar missions. These include:- Sentinel-1 mission scientist; responsibilities include running the Sentinel-1 advisory group, managing support studies, monitoring end-to-end compliance of the performance with mission requirements, monitoring of the evolution of user requirements (GSEs, EU Fasttrack), maintenance of the mission requirements document and participation in formal project reviews. - Technical support to future Earth Observation SAR mission concepts such as BIOMASS and small SAR missions (e.g. companion satellite to SAOCOM 1B)
