My work in the UK with Hospitals and Day Care Centre's allow me to maintain my connection with the healthcare industry in advising and assisting various steering groups and committees on differing methodologies used in other countries and help in giving a better understanding of the growing multicultural society we now live in; this is in respect to habits, mannerisms, etiquette, food, religion, experiences gained by living and working internationally. Being commercially aware with a firm understanding of commercial principles, whilst viewing issues in terms of costs, profits and added value. Other essential qualities demonstrated over the past 40 years include the ability to create new and imaginative approaches whilst questioning traditional assumptions. Overall responsibility for the daily operational function of the Department and all ITD project functions within Saad Specialist Hospital and a new Health Sciences Centre. My overall responsibility was to provide advanced IT, security, and fire system practices. I had to be fully aware of the strategic implications of how issues related to these systems had impact upon facilities and the environment of hospital organizations. Part of the Saad Specialist Hospital's strategy was to compare and measure performance against international standards, particularly the Joint Commission International (JCI), Accreditation Canada and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI). The accountability for technical security, fire alarm safety and related IT standards for all 3 accreditations lay with me as an extremely important member of the inner team. Successfully Managed a Multi-National team of Managers, Engineers, Technicians and Administrators in the Design and Project Engineering of a number of fast track projects including the design, installation and maintenance of; CCTV, Access Control, Pager, Public Address, Nurse Call, Special Sound/Lighting and Fire Alarm Systems, for a 513 Bed Specialist Hospital Complex, 3000 Pupil Intake School, Residential and Hotel Complex, Large Conference Centre, with a 600 seating Auditorium, Investment Bank (Bahrain, UAE, and Geneva) and the Company Group Head Office. Responsible for all vendor and distributorship's negotiating. Setting forecast budgets and business plans for the Department. Setting up training programmes for staff and advising senior members of staff on all security issues including personal protection.Compilation and implementation of IT Security Policies and Disaster Planning Procedures for the Group. IT Representative on a number of Hospital Steering Committees.Worked closely with the Saudi Arabian Special Forces in two terrorist incidents.

I initiated security, fire and H/S project based procedures to ensure the successful and profitable conclusion of all projects. I assisted in the career and personal development of international project and administrative personnel, achieving projects through positive management, undertaken with a balance between personal and technical skills. As a result of close communications with other team members and tight performance control, I was always acutely aware of project progress and developments.This position also required me to have a sound knowledge of contract law both in the UK and Overseas.Carried out a number of covert and overt surveillance operations and investigations in the UK and overseas for large corporations and Governments.

I was Operations Manager for Hampshire, Dorset and the IOW responsible for a team of Engineers covering all installation & Maintenance of Security & Fire Alarm Systems.In 1982 I was seconded to the Company's Asia Operation based in Singapore and was responsible for the whole of the Company's activities in eight countries ready for the handover to the local Management in 1984.On my return to the UK London HQ I was part of the National Executive Management Team Cooperating with the Company's major clients and Government Departments.
