After School in 1968 I completed my National Service in the 4th South African Infantry.Indentured to the Metal Box Company of South Africa as an apprentice Photo- Lithographer specializing in Reproduction Photography. Attended the Natal Technical College Department of Art and Printing part- time for 3 years resulting in National Technical Certificates Part 1-2-3 being obtained and passed the relevant Trade Test and qualified in 1973.Joined South African Diving Services in 1974 as a trainee diver qualifying in 1975Started in the North Sea as a diver in 1977.In 1986 I formed a company with partners carrying out salvage and archaeological surveys on old wrecks The Company also trained commercial divers and paramedicsIn 1997 I sailed my yacht from Cape Town across the Atlantic through the Caribbean to Ft Lauderdale in the USA.I moved to Scotland fulltime with my family in 2000.Moved to Australia in 2015 attained permanent residence status in July 2017 Have many years’ experience in the offshore diving industry from Heavy lift and Pipe Lay Barges. Hyperbaric Welding. Wellhead work. Diverless operations including structure installation, umbilical and flowline installation and Vertical Lay system work,Experience in spool piece tie installation with both divers and diverless using Icarus and PPS Tooling.
