Malcolm is a successful 'head of' fraud and operational risk management professional who has undertaken senior operational, development and strategy roles in the private and public sectors.His key skills lie in stakeholder / relationship management and influencing executive and director level audiences to provide risk control solutions which deliver an holistic risk management strategy and robust policy and prevention / detection solutions.He developed and implemented a suite of risk management solutions to support the successful launch of the first retail banking product (debit card) for Triodos Bank in Bristol to mitigate the threat of losses from fraud, operational risk, and credit, regulatory and reputational risks.He managed a number of senior risk control teams and represented Nationwide on the key fraud industry strategy forums (ie UK Payments Plastic Fraud Prevention Forum, Fraud Control Steering Group and as Chairman of the Remote Banking Fraud Management Group).He is an established banking industry expert in the mitigation of card fraud and identity fraud solutions and delivered implementation of solutions such as 'chip and PIN', PRM, FALCON, remote card authentication, internal fraud, whistleblowing and application fraud systems.Malcolm delivered critical elements of the Government's National Fraud Strategy whilst Head of Fraud Risk at the National Fraud Authority which included the first national mechanism for measuring and evaluating fraud risks across the UK economy - the National Fraud Threat Dashboard - and an identity fraud authentication and verification model.Malcolm also held roles as Head of Identity & Fraud for public sector solutions at Experian and Senior Risk Manager for Whitbread PLC.In between permanent roles, he has developed and delivered fraud risk management strategy workshops for the Banking Industry, Public Sector and business consultancies.
