Responsible for designing and establishing Syngenta’s Global Business Services, a cross functional shared services organization focused on global process standardization, higher quality services and financial benefits of over $100m. In the latter phase lead a worldwide multidisciplinary process excellence team of over 200 staff covering Finance, Procurement, HR, Supply and Commercial.

Headed regional finance spanning 14 country operations and 120 Finance professionals. Achievements included: driving significant top line ($0.8bn to $1.1bn) and profit; shaping successful business restructuring in China, India and Australia; and managing regional SAP, Finance outsourcing and SOX implementations

Led business controlling for Syngenta’s core ($6bn) business, driving financial planning and business performance. Reporting to Chief Operating Officer. Achievements included doubling of operating profit.

Led Finance stream of “Creating Syngenta” transformation program. Developed and implemented Syngenta’s Financial Framework (KPI’s) and upgraded management reporting capability.

Headed global management/statutory reporting. Role evolved into leading a combined (Novartis/Zeneca) pre-merger Global Finance task team

CFO for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. Driving recovery of $120m business in midst of the Asian Financial crisis requiring major risk, cash, cost and price improvement actions.

Business development and client advisory projects focused on UK and Gulf region public/private funding.

Managed local teams performing due diligences, M&A and valuations of public and private Polish business for global investors.
