Industrial Lighting Consultant
CurrentI currently work for a proud family-owned WA based company selling lighting and solar lighting solutions through both the B2B and electrical wholesale channel. We help businesses on there decarbonisation journey through large solar based lighting solutions, in both fixed and portable offerings. My current clients included national wholesale along with major Teir 1 mining clients including Rio Tinto and BHP.
Sales Account Manager
I worked with MHIAA selling air conditioning products through a large retail, wholesale, and distributer network. This included Bunnings in retail; MMEM & CNW in wholesale, Actrol & Beijer in Refrigeration as well as including a large distributor network that spans through the state from Albany through to Broome and Port Hedland. We experienced year on year growth despite depressed markets and global pandemics.
Area Supervisor
Working on AFL football game days as well as other adhoc events, I served as an assistant supervisor for ground staff as well as customer liaison within Subiaco Football Oval.
Wa Fantech Trade Ventilation Specialist
I worked within the electrical & building industry promoting and selling the Fantech & Fantech Trade range of ventilation products. We were also an agent for Nederman duct and fume extraction products as well as Danfoss VSD motor controls.Given the varied customer base, it was the companies expectation that I had enough technical expertise in all of the above products to guide clients towards the best solution.Given the range of the product suite, I talked to many varied people including Engineers and Specifiers all the way through to Electricians and end users. My primary role was to look after the reseller channel B2B – being electrical wholesalers and plumbing suppliers, both of which made up approximately 200 stores throughout the state.Highlights were closing a $200K sale for the Wheatstone project through a local CNW branch as well as larger $50K refurbishment projects through other modular building companies. My last financial year also saw 17% growth against my sales targets during a particularly challenging year and environment.
Parts Sales Interpreter
Based within the Parts Area at WesTrac in Guildford, I was the first point of contact for customers. My duties included managing a set number of key accounts, processing sales for customers, preparing quotes for customers, processing back orders and freight for customers, handling both e-mail and phone queries for customers, arranging payments for orders. Parts interpretation is also a big part of my role.My client list included FMG, Monadelphous, Birla Nifty, Aus Drill, BHP, MacMahon, Rio Tinto & Georgiou.
Business Development Manager
Somfy Group is the world leader in motors and automatic controls for openings and closures of homes and commercial buildings. Somfy works with numerous other manufacturers to bring to market a quality product.I was solely responsible for all accounts within Western Australia and South Australia, with the exception of key accounts, ranging from retail through to large manufacturers and wholesale. My client listing is well over 500 stores within these two states. This was purely a B2B role. Duties included managing a monthly call cycle, discussing and implementing sales targets and growth strategies, relationship management and customer service, processing and managing orders and returns, the use of the companies CRM program to accurately report all activities, implementation of marketing material and training.Although I was in my role for a short time, I believe that I had a great impact on the business. The first financial year saw growth in both states - against the trend of all the other states which were down significantly. WA grew 14% while South Australia grew 68%.Year to Date 2012 I had stores that were exceeding expectations with WA sales up 70% - the highest growth of any other state or region in Australia. I also fostered mutually beneficial relationships between retailers and Home Automation Specialists which saw both residential and commercial projects increase. I championed the Somfy School project in each state - conducting training for both retailers and installers from a basic to highly technical knowledgebase. The schools for each state saw record numbers of people attend - maximising profitability for each school conducted. With a massive range of products we were expected to be responsible for our own product knowledge and keep abreast of industry changes. It was our responsibility to keep ourselves up-to-date on all new products and have expert knowledge of our products including wiring diagrams and programming information.
Key Account Manager
Epson Australia is a leading supplier of quality imaging products to the colour printing, imaging and photography markets. I was responsible for maintaining and increasing sales of Epson printers and multifunction units as well as business and home theatre projectors. This was a B2B role – selling into large consumer retail chains including Retravision, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Kambo’s. I was also solely responsible for the relationship management of such National accounts as Dick Smith and Officeworks in WA.Duties for this role included managing a monthly call cycle, the “sell in” of products into stores, managing a sales pipeline, discussing and implementing sales targets and incentives, relationship management and customer service, processing and managing orders and returns, the use of the companies CRM program to accurately report all activities, implementation of marketing material and training. Some of my achievements included:Growth within The Good Guys account which saw sales increase every quarter over the last financial year. There was also continual growth within the Officeworks account. WA accounted for 14% of the national business – they were at 9% when I first started.I also raised our national share with Dick Smith; with WA’s business increasing from 9% to 12% over the last two years.I initiated a number of new ways of sharing information with our customers including the Officeworks group, for whom I created the “Officeworks Bible” – making all Epson product information readily available in store. This not only led to a lift in sales for the state, but WA also became the number one state in the country for special orders outside of core range products. I have also worked closely with Harvey Norman accounts – leading my Harvey Norman Bunbury account to be the number one store in the country for entry level products, which also saw a 38% lift in there consumable business for the last financial year.

As Regional Field Manager, I was responsible for a field team of 10 spread across WA and SA.Duties included recruitment and training of staff, reporting on field activities, liaising with Telstra account managers to help grow their accounts, auditing field work and reporting, staff appraisals and managing all in-field operations.Whilst in my previous position I have had many achievements including:I met KPI in both coverage and Over & Above displays in WA & SA for 5 consecutive years running, earning the company a $5000 monthly bonus from Telstra.I put into place many new processes, including one which changed how information was distributed to the field team - which saved CPM and Telstra $30K per annum.I developed new systems of ordering which are still used nationally by CPM and Telstra.I lifted the profile of my team and the states I manage which resulted in a 7% lift in satisfaction survey results carried out by an independent body on behalf of Telstra. This was the largest gain and result of any other state.I liaised with account managers and key business makers within WA & SA to initiate technology training sessions – carried out by myself and my field staff. Telstra reported a 22% increase in pre-paid sales in stores that received the training last financial year.I have been the only National Manager who has received an award from Telstra for outstanding contributions to the program.
