Consultant & expert witness; food safety & risk assessment.My experience in food manufacturing and retailing, from Unilever to 20 years as head of food safety at Sainsbury’s, provides wide experience of HACCP, management systems of control, food poisoning incident and crisis management. I have focused on identifying the structural changes in the food supply network that are the root cause of much sporadic and outbreak food poisoning, often by unwittingly providing the perfect conditions for the survival and growth of newly introduced food pathogens, or the criminal introduction of illegal and toxic substances. I have a Masters in Criminology and an active involvement in the criminal justice system, including as a prison visitor.
