As an instructor at Yale-NUS College, I design courses for a range of student abilities. I equip students to read challenging material, analyze its content, and write cogently and persuasively about ideas. As coordinator of the senior thesis project at Yale-NUS College, I teach students writing and editing skills in a single-semester thesis seminar. I help them develop a project from idea to draft, giving them opportunities to practice writing skills at each step, from research to outlining to drafting and revision.As an academic writer, I bring together my own translations of Sanskrit texts and analysis of existing scholarly literature to argue for novel textual interpretations and to explain their relevance for timeless problems such as how people can know, how to engage in debate over controversial ideas, and how language works in non-literal ways like metaphor.

I attend to the structure of the review, its fairness, balance of criticism and compliment, and ensure it follows the journal house style as well as Chicago Manual of Style. I ensure reviews are submitted on time, I track reviews to ensure appropriate coverage of content, and I communicate clearly and promptly to all parties involved: publishers, reviewers, and journal editors.
